Astrologie - Virgon: The Virgin

This new series will visit in some depth the 12 signs of the zodiac, their meanings and potential.

Virgon or, “Virgo” as it is more commonly known, is the sign of the craftsman or critic. It is represented by the celestial virgin. It is a mutable earth sign ruled by Mercury. People born under this sign are thought to be exact, methodical, industrious, discriminating, intelligent and chaste. The gems for this sign are pink jasper and hyacinth. Color is gray or navy blue and the metal is quicksilver. Companion signs are Caprica (Capricorn) and Tauron (Taurus).

The fully developed Virgon contains an amazing power for discernment. Everything is carefully analyzed with no potential strength or weakness going unnoticed. This talent allows him to deploy his skills accurately, giving him great success at all the tasks he undertakes regardless of size. This makes him an ideal manager in any number of occupations.

They are fantastically hard workers even though they tend to be overlooked or denied acknowledgement for the great – often indispensable – services they perform. But he is more preoccupied with performing his tasks than in getting recognition for their completion.

The Virgon is not adept in skills of authority. When tasked with giving orders, he usually comes across as bullish and overbearing, easily alienating those who work under him. But, his nature is such that offenses are easily forgiven and people work with him in spite of his limitations, because he is extremely adept at the work he does.

Some will think the Virgon selfish because of the demands he places on others, but this is not true since the Virgon will often spend their lives dedicated to working for others, receiving inadequate pay, yet finding great satisfaction in helping others rather than helping themselves. They give freely and without hesitation as much as they can; financially, physically and emotionally. But they know when they’re being taken advantage of and when they finally say: “enough is enough”, they rarely have to say it more than once.

Their personal life is much like their financial life – rarely lavish in their affection, a strong dislike of lavish affection upon them by others, and mortal fear of being dependent on anyone. Virgons tend to live simply and frugally even if they have an excess of wealth.

When a Virgon loves, he does it with great intensity and, if that love fails, it takes him a long time before he’s ready to love again. He doesn’t tend to want children, though he makes an excellent parent. He tends to prefer celibacy in servitude than to seek sex for the sake of sex, often tending to appear prudish when the topic of sex is any kind but his own. The key word to associate with Virgon is “fickle”, for they have this quality above all others.

The under-developed Virgon is the slave-driver. Nothing is ever good enough for him, and he tends to have this sense out of his own failures – exacting a type of revenge on those around him for the limitations he sees in himself. He excels in seeing details, like his fully-developed counterpart, but only the details of failure – he sees impossibility and flaws, he sees particularly well these in the work of others. This type also tends toward getting married to their job, even if they have a spouse, letting friendships and love wither.

Physically the Virgon is wiry but generally strong, muscular, with excellent capacity for endurance. He’ll always look smart, exceedingly attractive, charming and witty. His health is almost relentlessly good, sickness hardly can hold him, and, when it does, it tends to be an illness that would destroy a lesser constitution.

Some notable Virgons include: Sophia Loren and Greta Garbo.
