I saw this movie, and with the perspective of someone who has spent a lot of time in Mexico, and with Mexican men, I did not view this as much of a "seduction" or "men who do prey on the young."
This was an eyes wide-open relationship, and Carlos was already on bad terms with his father because they thought him gay. This is a typical Latin male-to-male sexual relationship...nothing bad or abnormal.
I can't believe that the author of this article cannot see that Carlos is indeed gay...and if so, he was not preyed upon or seduced. And the differences in age and maturity levels were not that great. As such, Narloch's conclusions are stupid, and shame on Outword Magazine for publishing them.

I saw it as well and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cultural and religious aspects hit very close to home. It was a great story and was very moving, bringing both highs and lows. And not to mention, Jesse Garcia is hot.
